1st Rd Mock Draft

Keep It thinks this is how the first round will go down as it relates to rookies. For the discussion on how veterans will play into this process, tune in next week.

1. Co. Darren McFadden. Who else? Co. is hoping for another Adrian Peterson-like breakout for the former Razorback.

2. Champs. The second player on my board is Matt Ryan. But, the Champs have no issues at qb as long as Derek Anderson can keep up the pace he set last year. He definitely has enough weapons. Look for the Champs to take Rashard Mendenhall here. It is a toss up between wr and rb and any fantasy owner worth his proverbial salt knows a rb here is more valuable than a wr, even in this league.

3. Guns. I really do think the Commish is trying to accumulate the first-ever all caucasian fantasy team (where is Mike Alstott when you need him?). But Commish likes to win more. That said, Commish should take Ryan here, but he will not. Commish wants to win now. But he won't. He is old at wr with the likes of Isaac Bruce, Marty Booker, Joey Galloway and Chris Chambers (he is no spring chicken). Commish takes Malcolm Kelly here as he is the highest rated wr in the group.

4. BTR. The team needs help. Much like the Dolphins, there is no one player that will turn this team around. That said, BTR is NOT going to trade down. With Cotchery, Smith and Coles bolstering the wr play (and a possible emergence generated from the move of Williamson to the Jags- he never quite turned into Randy Moss), the team needs a rb badly. The team takes Jonathon Stewart. Matt Ryan is a possibility here as Quinn will not get off the bench this year and Pennington has question marks allover him. But Cutler will most likely start.

5. Off in the Woods. He cannot afford to draft another backup running back or wr. Matt Ryan should go here (makes sense for the young qb to grow with the young team), but he will not as Off is going to start either Bulger or Schaub. But the team needs help everywhere else too. The highest player on the board and DeSean Jackson is the best available. Woods takes him.

6. Top Guns. He still needs help at wr and rb. Felix Jones (best available) comes off the board.

7. Keep It. Plenty of young, unproductive wrs. But, Keep It thinks Limas Sweed is a name for the record books. He takes a chance.

8. Top Guns. Commish needs help. He has picks to take a chance. He takes Mario Manningham at 8 and Matt Ryan at 9 if he cannot make a deal with Frizz for other picks otherwise.

10. Frizz's Boys. Always a prudent drafter, Frizz will take Jamaal Charles as the best available running back at 10 - if he cannot move up.

11. Hanging with Mr Dawley. 1-6 the team is solid. After that, he could use upgrades at rb or wr. Fred Davis is the best available.

12. Top Guns again. Ray Rice.

13. Keep It. Always a fan of the white feature back (currently listed as fb), Keep It would love to take Jacob Hester here. But, he will take his teammate instead. Early Doucet is off the board.

14. Dime. Team is sold up and down. Dime takes best available: Devin Thomas.

That will conclude the first round. Btw, I am still against the March Madness pick.

Disclaimer: GOM picks subject to change based on actual NFL draft.
